May - Frontline Staff Need to Know About You!

If you're getting ready to put on a festival, event - or have something new at your attraction - now is the time to alert the staff at area visitors and welcome centers. You may even want to give them free tickets to bring their family and spend the day.

Time and time again, I've seen marketing staff at attractions overlook the frontline people at regional visitors and welcome centers. These are the people who actually talk with tourists and make suggestions where to go and what to do.

Marketing staff often send tickets to the general manager, but not often enough to the people who really count.

Your chamber of commerce or local tourism office can provide you the names so you can send free tickets. Make them undated so your guests may use the passes at their leisure.

May Marketing Tip - Granted, word of mouth is the best form of advertising. But, for it to work, you need to give information to the right people - those that talk to visitors.
