What Does Your Facebook Page Say About You?

If you're one of the millions of people who use Facebook to network and promote your business, festival, event, downtown or attraction, you may want to scrutinize your wall. How does it look to others? Is it full of interesting posts? Chatter? App icons? Personal photos? Profanity? Here are some points to consider:

1) If you're looking for a new job, a potential employer is most likely going to review your online presence. What would you want that person to see?

2) If you're promoting your business, festival, event, attraction, etc., is your Facebook page enticing enough to cause repeat visitors? Will they just sign up as a friend and never return?

3) If you're promoting a place or event, how many app icons do people have to sort through to find your information?

4) What kind of information do you have posted on your profile? If you have a place, does your profile talk about it? You'd be surprised the number which don't.

MARKETING TIP: If you're combining your personal and professional lives on Facebook, and you want to use that page for potential clients and networking, pay attention to what shows up. You may want to go to another computer and dial in your page. What can others learn about you or your event there?
