Outside the Box: Promoting National Opera Week

What a wonderful way to promote an event! Festivals, arts councils and other non-profits can utilize this model to develop an outreach program. For instance, a festival or arts council can arrange to set up some type of mass promotion, say at a mall, local car dealership or pharmacy. Yes, you have to do your legwork and get clearance - and perhaps some grant funding. But, look at the exposure you can get! Perhaps even a non-profit could partner with a hair dresser and offer free haircuts for a day - in a public setting - just to gain the exposure. Oh, the list of possibilities is endless!

MARKETING TIP:  Be creative. Public exposure brings publicity and the potential for funding, volunteers and more local involvement.
